The Chattahoochee Review in partnership with the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) is pleased to support the 24th Edition of the Book Festival of the MJCCA. Taking place from November 5-22, the festival will feature a lineup of the year’s most exceptional authors, celebrities, and thinkers including Judy Blume, Arlene and Alan Alda, David Gregory, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Mitch Albom, and Ted Koppel.
In this, its fourth consecutive year of community partnership with the festival, The Chattahoochee Review is honored to have been selected to host Tess Gerritsen, New York Times bestselling author and creator of the “Rizzoli & Isles” television series, at the center’s Zaban Park facility on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Gerritsen will be discussing her latest book, Playing With Fire, in conversation with Lois Reitzes, host of WABE 90.1 FM radio station’s City Café, Second Cup Concert, ASO Broadcasts, and Spivey Soiree.
In Playing With Fire, a mother, Julia, is haunted by an old piece of music she finds in a strange antique shop in Rome. When she plays the piece on her violin, she blacks out and awakens to find her young daughter implicated in acts of surprising violence. Julia then discovers that the music dates back to the horrors of the Holocaust and involves a powerful family who will stop at nothing to keep Julia from bringing the truth to light.
